Manual processes and spreadsheets
A spreadsheet is excellent to start with and terrible to grow with. Once several people edit the same file, versions travel by email and nobody is sure which one is current, the cost stops being time and starts being error.
Replacing a spreadsheet with a system is not about technology. It is about having one version of the truth, with a record of who changed what and when.
- A single source of information
- Several people working at once
